About

Patrick Balthrop / High Fruit

Interactive Sound + Fury is the studio of Patrick Balthrop, also known by the stage name High Fruit, an American electronic musician and designer. Interactive Sound + Fury boasts two distinctive studio locations: one nestled in the heart of Seattle's vibrant queer community in Capitol Hill, and the other sprawled across 9 acres of lush rainforest along the rugged Washington coastline, where the Pacific Ocean meets the wilderness.

Patrick first came to prominence as a sound designer and engineer in the video game industry, where he made multiple Games of the Year as a sound designer and audio director. He sat in on mixing sessions of The Beatles at Abbey Road and has received accolades from the BAFTAs, the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences, and the Game Audio Network Guild. His music has appeared in video games released by Take-Two Interactive, Microsoft Games, MTV Games, and Annapurna Interactive. His work has exhibited at the Smithsonian Museum. High Fruit’s live audiovisuals and dance floor installations have supported Berghain residents Tama Sumo + Lakuti and Phase Fatale, as well as Jubilee, Lauren Flax, Rrao, Antenes, and Nark. Patrick owns and operates Interactive Sound + Fury, and is a member of the underground dance music crew Lotion Collective.
